The hotel helps in preserving the culture of the area by supporting local arts and crafts.
The Turkoman Hotel is an old Ottoman house located just across the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque. The house has been restored in such a way that it has not lost its character in the process of being converted into a small hotel. The owners are well-known producers of hand-woven Turkish carpets. They have invested considerable effort in preserving the cultural aspect of the traditional Turkish carpet business, and by doing so, they lend encouragement and support to the dying craft of Turkish carpet making.
