The Istanbul International Film Festival is set to be a great showing of classics and new masterpieces. Showings are throughout theatres and venues in Istanbul with prizes awarded to "best of" in various categories. Turkish and foreign language films are featured during this prestigious event organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. This annual film festival shows a great selection of Turkish and foreign language films. The first Festival was held in 1982 and today has become one of the largest film festimvals in Turkey, attracting thousands each year.
